Arthur Hong LLP Joins “After We Go Offline” Exhibition on End-of-Life Planning
Arthur Hong LLP was honoured to be invited by ForeverGift.hk (遺善最樂) to take part in “After We Go Offline: An Exhibition on Five Kinds of Protection,” held at the Hong Kong Arts Centre from 13–17 June 2026. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful initiative and to stand alongside doctors, social workers, funeral practitioners and fellow lawyers in bringing conversations about wills, enduring powers of attorney, advance medical directives, end-of-life arrangements and life-story keeping into the open.
At the accompanying sharing session, our Founding Partner, Mr. Hong Ka Ho Arthur, spoke on a critical limitation of ordinary powers of attorney — they lapse automatically the moment a person loses mental capacity, often freezing bank accounts (even joint ones) and forcing families into costly, time-consuming legal processes. He emphasised that an Enduring Power of Attorney is not a tool for managing today’s assets, but a safeguard prepared in advance for tomorrow’s uncertainties, covering property, stocks and other assets, so that loved ones can focus on care rather than paperwork during difficult times.
Thank you again to ForeverGift.hk, and to all the professionals and members of the public who joined us for this thoughtful and important dialogue.
