Alice joined our firm having experience in civil and criminal litigation and commercial practice. She acts for corporate and private clients in handling court cases in relation to shareholders’ disputes, contractual litigations, employment, defamation and family proceedings (contentious and non-contentious). She also assists clients on drafting and review of commercial agreements.

Alice also handles criminal defence work in assisting clients in trials, plea bargains, and legal visits. 

Her recent selected representative matters:

Civil and commercial litigations/ arbitrations:

• Acting for the Company in a shareholders’ dispute involving unfair prejudice petition, rights of shareholders in the management of the Company and cross-petition between the parties in a series of applications  concerning landed properties once valued at more than HK$800 million. 
• Acting for the Company against the Official Receiver being the trustee for handling the bankrupt’s estates involving HK$150 million over the past 20 years.
• Acting for the Plaintiff Company against a bank for wrongfully freezing the client’s bank account amounting to US$1.7 million.
• Acting for the Defendant Companies in HKIAC arbitration regarding the contractual disputes in the sale of properties in Greece by a UK company to Chinese parties in Hong Kong.
• Acting for a USA Company in HKIAC arbitration regarding an emigration investment scheme joint venture plan in California with the Plaintiffs in China.

Criminal:

• Represented the Defendant, a teacher who was accused of molesting a student. The Defendant was acquitted on all three charges of indecent assault after trial and secured inadmissibility of the cautioned statements.

Defamation:

• Acting for the Defendant celebrity regarding the online statements of beauty salons between the shareholders of a beauty salon in a defamation action.
• Acting for one of Hong Kong’s major foreign domestic helper (FDH) agencies in defending a defamation action concerning a celebrity in an interview on TV.

Matrimonial:

• Acting for the Applicant to apply for variation of maintenance in relation to the Applicant’s family’s civil and criminal litigations concerning various landed properties in the PRC.

Commercial Practice:

• Advising a PRC listed company restaurant in Hong Kong and revising its Employment Handbook.
• Advising the franchise concerning a USA multinational food company in Hong Kong; and drafting and reviewing the Chinese and English Franchise Agreements .
• Advising a multinational product design and manufacturing Company based in the UK with production in China for licensing its IP rights and technology to a USA retailer; and drafting the Chinese and English Agreements.
• Drafting and reviewing the Terms & Conditions and different Agreements for different online platforms and startup companies.
• Drafting the Legal Opinion for the purpose of listing in the PRC for a textile Company and its overseas subsidiaries and conducting due diligence.
